XBRL US to hold its annual conference on November 17-18 in New York City; directly follows FEI conference XBRL US will hold its annual conference on November 17-18, 2009 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City with a focus on improving communication between public companies and investors through data and technology standards. The conference will be held in association with FEI (Financial Executives International), and will directly follow FEI's conference, "Current Financial Reporting Issues" which runs November 16-17, 2009. Next SEC Filer Training Workshop led by XBRL US taxonomy experts to be held in San Francisco Experts from the XBRL US project team that developed the US GAAP Taxonomies will be teaching an in-person training workshop to educate preparers on how to create XBRL-formatted financial statements for mandatory submission to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This hands-on session will demonstrate how to use the XBRL US GAAP Taxonomies and how to convert primary financial statements and block tag footnotes into XBRL format. All attendees will leave the workshop with a completed XBRL-formatted financial statement and a repeatable step-by-step guide. The next workshop will be held in San Francisco on September 16, 2009. Corporate Actions 2009 Conference reveals need for issuer involvement One of the key findings at XBRL US? May 28, 2009 conference on corporate actions was the need for public companies to understand the current process and to follow industry-accepted standards in how corporate actions data is created and distributed. The event was held in New York City and attended by over 100 individuals representing securities processors, investor relations officers, software companies and others. The conference was held jointly with Securities Operation Forum and in association with The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) and SWIFT. Also DTCC, SWIFT and XBRL US jointly announced a plan to improve the processing of corporate actions announcements. XBRL International Conference: XBRL is rapidly evolving beyond financial reporting More than 400 executives from some 40 countries met in Paris for the 19th XBRL International Conference, and it was clear that the XBRL footprint is rapidly expanding beyond compliance and financial reporting to a variety of other applications as a solution for improving transparency, reducing costs and increasing competitiveness. "This conference is a sign that the curtain is rising on Act 2 for XBRL," Mark Bolgiano, CEO of XBRL US, said from the conference. "It's clear that XBRL is being used for all sorts of non-financial reporting activities.
