Corporate Actions
Corporate actions are events initiated by publicly-traded companies that have a direct impact on their shareholders and the securities they issue. These actions can involve changes like stock splits, dividends, mergers and acquisitions, rights issues, and spin-offs, and most announcements are processed manually, resulting in errors, time delays and unnecessary cost, negatively affecting investors across the financial community.XBRL enables straight-through-processing by electronically capturing standardized data directly from issuers when a corporate action is announced. This initiative builds on the work by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), integrating XBRL tagging technology.
