Digital, standardized climate and sustainability data is less costly, more granular, and better quality than data prepared in static documents. It's also an ideal resource for artificial intelligence platforms because the contextualized nature of standardized data enables more robust, granular, accurate analysis. Global regulators have already embraced digital reporting for climate data, from GHG emissions to sustainability narratives. They recognize that digital reporting generates data that is consistent, interoperable, and more functional, and it can reduce the reporting burden for companies complying with more than one regulator.
This roundtable brings together representatives from the accounting, sustainability, investment, corporate, and standard setter communities to share ideas, discuss the continuously changing landscape of climate reporting mandates, and consider how stakeholders can work together to improve the efficiency of reporting while helping companies move towards net-zero goals.
The program will start with special remarks from NY State Assemblymember Deborah J. Glick on legislative initiatives to address the need for high quality consistent data to assess the impact of corporate GHG emissions on New York.
