The OIM Taxonomy Specification streamlines and modernizes the XBRL specification with features that make it easier to implement data standards programs, produce data that is even more “AI-ready”, and make it easier for reporting entities to generate XBRL reports.
The Requirements document for the OIM Technical Specification has been published by XBRL International and is out for a public review period that closes on February 16, 2026. Members of XBRL US and XBRL International, regulators, data scientists, developers, and software providers are encouraged to provide input to inform the final requirements documents.
