Event will focus on development, maintenance and other advanced XBRL topics
NEW YORK, June 8 /PRNewswire/ — XBRL US, the nonprofit consortium for XML business reporting, will hold its first-ever Pacific Rim Technology Workshop & Summit, a 2 ½ day event bringing together XML developers and other professionals from around the Pacific Rim who are implementing XBRL reporting standards worldwide or who are interested in learning more.
XBRL and XML experts will lead discussion sessions and hands-on workshops designed to educate and generate ideas on solving issues in XBRL development such as rendering, versioning, data quality and validation, among others. The program will also feature presentations from participants in an intern program conducted by XBRL US which is bringing together practitioners from Pacific Rim countries to work alongside the XBRL US team that developed the digital dictionary being used today for US GAAP and mutual fund risk/return reporting to increase transparency and reduce costs.
“This conference will give XBRL and XML practitioners an opportunity to roll up their sleeves, test out new ideas and learn, but most importantly, engage in discussions that will help bring out the issues, present some solutions about critical topics in technology development and explore new areas to apply this reporting standard,” said Wilson So, Director, Hitachi Consulting Corporation, and chairman of the event’s committee of advisors.
Conference highlights include:
- Real-world case studies that describe taxonomy development and maintenance processes including US GAAP, IFRS and corporate actions from around the world, e.g., US, China, Europe, Japan
- Advanced topics in development including tagging, rendering, versioning, data quality and validation, database and business intelligence
- Practical taxonomy maintenance workshop
- Speakers with XBRL expertise from organizations such as Hitachi, Fujitsu, CoreFiling, Rivet Software, Clarity Systems, UBmatrix, Ernst & Young, The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), SWIFT, and Morningstar, among others
The conference will be held at Hitachi headquarters in Santa Clara, California. To learn more and to register for the event, go to http://xbrl.us/events/Pages/PacificRim.aspx.
