XBRL International Comment Period || Review the Public Working Draft of the Specification || Explore working examples of the enhanced specification

This is a comment period for the Public Working Draft of the next generation of the XBRL Standard. It is not a replacement for the existing Specifications.

  • Undertake a technical review, particularly if you have experience implementing XBRL software. We need to hear what does not work now, rather than in a year.
  • Submit your comments on this initial draft through oim-feedback@xbrl.org by 16 October 2026.
  • XBRL International will be hosting hands-on workshops for members in September and October. Details will be available shortly.

This work is part of a wider effort to simplify and modernise the standard, and it covers more than taxonomies. Project Tavi includes a range of ideas that suggest alternative, simplified approaches to various kinds of XBRL reporting, although most of these ideas are still at an earlier stage of development. The overall vision and latest developments will be discussed at Data Amplified in The Hague on 26 and 27 October.
