First event May 19-20, 2015 in New York City offering 13 CPE

XBRL US, the nonprofit consortium for XBRL reporting, announced today that they will be holding three advanced interactive workshops to maximize the ability of public company professionals around the country to obtain needed XBRL training. The focus of the workshops will be on learning best practice and correcting common problems in XBRL-formatted financials.  Skilled CPAs from the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), PwC, KPMG, Ernst & Young, Deloitte and XBRL US, each with many years of XBRL experience, will lead the workshops.

“Most public company accountants have at least a few years experience with XBRL financial statements,” said Campbell Pryde, CEO of XBRL US, “Yet we still see a significant number of quality and consistency problems in XBRL filings submitted to the SEC. This event will provide intensive classroom exercises to help attendees gain knowledge they’ll use every day on the job.”

Topics covered will include proper use of extensions and how to limit them; identifying and correcting signage problems; calculations; appropriate use of dates; dimensions and tools to ensure appropriate members and axes; mandatory concepts that must be in every XBRL document. Approximately 2/3 of each session will be in-class exercise and solution discussion. Each attendee will walk away with materials explaining the proper way to identify and correct common problems including errors that can be identified through manual and automated processes.

An optional pre-conference webinar will be held and an introductory session will kick off the program on the first day to ensure that all attendees begin the full program with similar skillsets. To learn more and register, go to:http://xbrl.us/workshop
