The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) published the final rule for Order No. 917; Filing Process and Data Collection for the Electric Quarterly Report. The final rule adopts the XBRL-CSV standard for filing the FERC Electric Quarterly Report (EQR).
In addition, the Commission amends its regulations to require Regional Transmission Organizations and Independent System Operators to produce reports containing market participant transaction data. The Commission also modifies and clarifies EQR reporting requirements. These changes are designed to update data collection, improve data quality, increase market transparency, decrease the costs, over time, of preparing the necessary data for submission, and streamline compliance with any future changes to the filing requirement.
