The New York State Legislature amended the Climate Corporate Data Accountability Act (S9072), which calls for the reporting of greenhouse gas emissions by reporting entities doing business in the State of New York and that have total revenues in excess of one billion dollars in the preceding fiscal year. The amended bill S9072A moves the timing of implementation out one year so that the regulation must be put in place by December 31, 2027, and the first reporting of Scope 1 and Scope 2 is required to begin in 2028 with data reported from the prior year.
