The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) published a rule proposal, Administration of the Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval System, which is out for a 30 day public review period which ends on October 17, 2020.

The proposal would add new Rule 15 which would allow the Commission to take certain actions in administering the EDGAR System designed to promote the reliability and integrity of submissions. These actions relate to personally identifiable information, incorrect EDGAR identifiers, potential cybersecurity threats, authorization issues over EDGAR access codes, and possible unauthorized submissions, among other areas.

Read the proposal.
