XBRL US submitted a comment letter in response to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) notice of information collection for Form N-MFP, the Monthly Report for Money Market Funds. Today this form, which details disclosure items related to portfolio holdings, including daily and weekly facts, is required to be reported in XML format. Our letter urged the Commission to consider requiring Form N-MFP to be reported in XBRL-CSV format. Transitioning to an XBRL-CSV standard rather than custom XML would also render data machine-readable, but would have the added benefit of reducing the size of the file issuers need to report and streamlining the preparation process.
