Mission:
To support the creation and adoption of a standardized digital framework for registration and ongoing disclosure for digital asset issuers as defined in the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins of 2025 (GENIUS Act) and in the proposed CLARITY Act. To explore the role of open data standards in tokenization and smart contract deployment.
Scope:
The working group engages with regulators who cover the emerging digital asset marketplace including the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and others tasked with regulating digital asset issuers. The work to be conducted will include exploring a digital framework for issuer application and ongoing disclosure, and developing a prototype taxonomy to express reporting requirements. The working group will develop a white paper describing the intiative and other materials to support and educate.
Working group members respond to regulatory Requests for Comment; define a proposed disclosure for digital assets of varying types; develop taxonomy prototypes; prepare sample instance documents; identify and engage subject matter experts in digital assets and blockchain; and build awareness among regulators, software providers and investors.
