Governance

XBRL US member volunteers are the driving force helping to set the strategic direction of the organization. All members have the opportunity to collaborate in decision-making at the working group or committee level, collaborating to resolve issues and strengthen implementation of the business reporting standard for participants across the reporting supply chain.

Organizational members are encouraged to participate in committees and working groups, and may have an opportunity to join the XBRL US Board of Directors. Standing committees are in place that provideinput to the strategic direction of XBRL US related to adoption and technical initiatives. Working groups are generally formed with a specific initiative in mind; they may be long-standing groups, or may be formed for a short period of time to tackle a particular issue. XBRL US members are welcome to suggest new working groups or subcommittees that will help to move XBRL adoption forward.
